Privacy policy

The short version: the files you convert are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to us. We don't have accounts, and we don't collect your name, email or bank details unless you email us. Our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs, and — when advertising is switched on — Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, subject to your consent where the law requires it.

1. Who we are

useme4 (https://useme4.com) is operated by Sunil Kharol, an individual based in India (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact hello@useme4.com. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we are the controller of the limited personal data described below.

2. Your files and their contents

When you use a converter, the file you choose (CSV, Excel, OFX, QFX, QBO or PDF), any PDF password you enter, and the converted output are processed only on your device, by code running in your web browser. They are not transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and we cannot see, store, or recover them. When you close or reload the page, the data is gone from the page's memory.

The converters do not use cookies, local storage or other browser storage to keep your data.

3. Information collected automatically

Hosting logs. The site is served by a hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare). Like any web server, it processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse — for example your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This data is processed under the provider's own privacy terms and is kept only for a limited period. Our legal basis under GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country or city), what device and browser they use, and how they arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies and a random identifier; it does not receive the files you convert. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, analytics cookies are only used if you accept them in the consent message. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If enabled, we may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or local storage.

4. Advertising

The site is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are shown on content pages, never inside the converter steps, and advertisers have no access to your files.

Consent (UK, EEA and Switzerland). Visitors from these regions are shown a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising cookies are used for personalised ads. You can accept, reject, or choose specific purposes, and change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link provided by the consent message. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised or limited ads, which use cookies only where permitted (for example to limit how often an ad is shown or to prevent fraud).

US state privacy laws. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Where required, a message is shown that lets you opt out, and we honour browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control as supported by our advertising partner.

5. When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and keep it only as long as needed for that conversation, unless the law requires otherwise. Please do not email us bank statements.

6. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

7. International transfers

Our hosting and advertising providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. These providers rely on recognised transfer safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. This includes rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and similar US state laws, and Canada's PIPEDA. Because we don't keep accounts or store your files, most of the data involved is held by our providers; we'll help you with any request. Email hello@useme4.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Children

This site is intended for adults managing business or personal finances. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, uses a strict Content Security Policy, and loads its converter code from our own domain. Because your files are processed locally, there is no stored copy that could be exposed in a data breach.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
